I love living in Kita Shinjuku. Both Okubo and Higashi Nakano are wee towns, with wee town personalities, but they are nestled next to Shinjuku proper so while you can see plenty of leafy greens and gas stations, etc. (town stuff) the city is always lurking nearby in the background.
