Bell Tower

This is the bell tower of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley.  I couldn't find much history of the church before 1988 when a new fund drive was held and windows from a church in Tucson were obtained to be used in the renovation of the existing church.  At that time, the architect's overall plan unified the entire complex- the new Church and Bell Tower, with the Rectory and Holy Family Center buildings, using a new colonnade to enclose the patio and integrate the existing buildings. The entire project was completed in 1990 at a cost of $2.2 million dollars.

As a sign of the times, notice that there is an electronic megaphone located in front of the bell so its chimes can be amplified.  You can also see the cast of the bell's shadow on the inside of the tower.

I've worn a Holter monitor for the past 24 hours for the cardiologist.  It wasn't too obtrusive but there was one spot where the electrode was taped to my chest that itched like crazy.  I'll get the results on Monday but I don't expect anything earth shattering.

I'm still sleeping a lot, sometimes as much as twelve hours a day, which is not what they want me to do, but when you're tired, you sleep.  I don't know how they expect you to stop that.  Any ideas?
