Kingsbury Water Park
Yesterday was the anniversary of my mother's death in 2000. Ever since, it has been a tradition for my brother The Spotlight Kid and I to meet up with our father at the Dog and Doublet, a canalside pub conveniently near to the Kingsbury Water Park, a place she loved, and where there is a memorial bench in her name. This is one of the beautiful lakes there, taken close by the bench, and of a tranquil scene that I am sure she would have enjoyed.
There was one great crested grebe in sight on the lake, many swans including several pairs displaying to one another, cormorants, shovelers, lapwings, tufted duck, mallard, Canada geese, various gulls, moorhens and coots in attendance and the Spotlight Kid spotted two kingfishers, one in the Water Park and one on the canal.
This one repays being seen large.
