The former president of Finland Martti Ahtisaari
I had a great pleasure and honor to listen the former president of Finland and the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner Martti Ahtisaari today at Aalto University. He was visitor lecturer of the course "philosophy and system thinking" which has kept by another famous Finnish man, philosopher Esa Saarinen. Ahtisaari was there telling his achievements on behalf of world peace and how he has been able to reach his goals.
Some points from his speech:
- You can achieve everything what you want in your life if you have willing to reach your goals.
- It is a huge problem when young people are not going to study any profession after elementary school. This seems to be growing problem at least in Finland.
- Keep your family on first place in your life.
- Work hard even though your work is boring. You will get huge satisfaction when results are visible and work is well done. This all depends on your attitude!
And finally the most important and great thing: he is going to continue his work even though he is 74 years old today! I will appreciate him and his work with my whole heart.
