In the late 1970s, Bob Hiller took the conversions for England with a very distinctive style in which he kicked the pointed end of the rugby ball. He wore square toed boots to achieve this.
None of this 'round the corner' nonsense of today's kickers!!
And the balls were made of leather, got heavier and more slippery when wet!!
Ahh, the Good Old Days!!
