"Be unique or go home"

Today I was with Peter van Veen at the trade fair professional Imaging 2012 in Nieuwegein. Besides watching all kinds of news in the field of photography and meeting several more or less known people, we attended various workshops.

Three of those workshops - lightpainting, sports & speedlights - were given by the renowned and famous American photographer Dave Black.

He's a gifted photographer, an enthusiastic and passionate storyteller with challenging concepts and catchy one-liners. Leading theme in all workshops: 'be unique or go home', this is, when you want to make a serious living out of your photography. It finally was a fair for professional photographers ...

My photo of today is made at the fair. And I bet it's the only image on the fair made this way. I tried to use elements as light painting, artificial light, available light, reflections and so on, used terms that were discussed in the workshops ... ;)
