Back home, I had to try something else instead.

Of all the signs of spring, the most rousing has always been seeing the sea glinting after the ice has gone.

Maybe that's why I wasn't happy with any of those pictures I took in the morning after having a coffee at the sunny market square. Those photos just didn't give me that feel.

Edit: Just a note to myself: I tried to achieve a soft low contrast backlit image by bouncing the light with a reflector to the face. The sun was quite low and I think I ended up a bit more side lit + I found it tricky to control both the manual focus of my Lensbaby and the reflector at the same time. In most of them the window to the right was badly overexposed, not sure if that's avoidable or not. In some of them the effect was good but focus out, in some of them just his expression was weird etc. So just a reminder to myself to give it a new try.
