Hubble bubble...

Toil and Trouble. That's how it goes isn't it ?

This blip is of my new kettle boiling while the main kitchen light is off and just the blue light of the kettle is illuminating the bubbling water.

Today, well last night really, mum was awake right through. I did put her to bed but she was talking away all night long. I don't know what time she got up but when I walked in this morning it was a bomb-site.

The standard lamp was almost entirely over and unplugged. The extension lead was unplugged and rolled up and on the window sill. She had ripped open a pillow and pulled all the stuffing out of it then put the stuffing inside the pillowcase and tied it all up.

On top of all this, and I'm sure there was more but I have forgotten it, she drew my attention to her toe which was bleeding.

I have no idea what she did but (look away now if you're squeamish)....
she had somehow pulled the nail off but not entirely.

I called the district nurse out to her and she dressed it and said she'd be back on Thursday to have another look at it. I'd bathed it before the nurse arrived.

The nurse also thought that with the way I'd described mum last night, that she might have a water infection as this can make them go a bit strange.

So I've got to get a urine sample bottle and get her to produce a sample on Thursday morning and the nurse will do a dip test and tell us there and then what they can see and I'll then be able to ask for antibiotics for her.

Mum has gone to bed now and I am going to break open a bottle of Baileys with something else in it, not sure if it's coffee flavour. A friend of mine bought it for me for my birthday.

I'd say bottoms up but I've had enough of bottoms to last me several lifetimes.
