On the Wing
Caught this bird on the wing. The wind was fairly strong and the hovering was great. The structure he is about to land on is an old succa from last year.
For those who do not know what a succa is, according to the biblical history of the Jews when they came out of Egypt, it was a structure made of palm fronds. They had been under slavery for over 400 years and around pagan practices for a long time. God instituted in the book of Leviticus the laws whereby the Jews could approach a Holy God, one being the Feast of Tabernacles and the building of temporary dwellings in which they would eat and sleep in under the open sky. I believe it is the only Feast of the Lord that has yet to be fulfilled in the Christian understanding.
This structure, left over, is just a few yards from our apartment in Jerusalem. I have to say here that I feel so privileged to be living in the capital of the universe, according to Gods word.
