Mr Toad

If I remember it right, at the beginning of 'Wind in the Willows' Ratty (or maybe Moley) is painting and it is such a wonderful spring day that he flings down his brush and goes off to find his friends and enjoy the sun. Their adventures centre around an infuriating friend - Mr Toad!

It must have been a day like today!

I spent a great deal of today out in the sun walking with a lovely woman I don't know who has been staying with a friend for a week while he recovers from an operation. We chatted walked and had lunch at my house - then took a plate of dinner back for the invalid!
