St Andrew's Square, Edinburgh
The Melville Monument dominates St Andrew's Square. But in this view from Edinburgh Castle we can also see some other classic Edinburgh elements. The dreary 21st century additions to St Andrew's Square itself, the 1960's high flats at Pilrig, the scrapyard at Salamander Street, a victorian church spire, the blue waters of the Firth of Forth and the coast of Fife beyond.
