Visitor in my garden

I just happened to look out the window and saw this visitor in my garden. At first I couldn't really see what it was because I didn't have my glasses on. Once I put my glasses on I ran for my camera, switched lenses, and hoped it was still there. This is the closest a Pileated Woodpecker has ever gotten to the house. He was really going nuts on that piece of wood we use as a base for our birdbath. He was there for a while working away then suddenly he flew off. I hope he returns but if not I am thankful that I got to see him this once.
