The Model Mannequin
Over the last twelve months I have been working on a project that I am going to exhibit at some stage during this year. The idea is built on childhood memories of walking past the shop windows of department stores and seeing the mannequins undressed one day, and the next displaying the finery of the shop the next.
I've recreated this experience by working with numerous models who have re-created this image of a nude mannequin and then dressed in exactly the same pose. Rather than have a nude woman as advertising material I thought it would be a good idea to recreate the original image from my childhood.
Thanks to Claire Connachan who works at Age Scotland, I was able to borrow one of their mannequins for an hour or so.
I've got to say, she was the easiest model in the world to work with - easy to dress and get into the right pose, no messing around with hair and make up and she didn't move in between takes.
I'll also use this as my Weekend Blip Challenge image has a theme of 'Anything'
