Presenting the SQH awards today in the Assembly Hall on the Mound in Edinburgh I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the steeple of what is now "The Hub" in the Royal Mile but which was, with this place, once the crowning glory of the energy , vision and indomitable spirit of the Disruption.

And inside I made the same point - the fact that this building reminds us of the merits of , and demand for, ambitious and courageous leadership, founded on principle. No matter the cost.

An important lesson for existing, and future, Head Teachers.
