they don't make 'em like this anymore... bottles that used to be of varying shapes and sizes... could fit into pocketbooks of the times... easy acces for all the ladies...

this is a dry perfume - made by a very popular perfume house founded in 1862 by charles armand roger and charles martial gallet... the company made a name for itself with its luxurious bath soaps - which in 1879 first appeared in their signature round shape... with crinkled silk paper and seal - still in use today...

over the years - roger & gallet have broadened their market to include other scented body products - candles - oils all based on rare plants and wrapped up in distinctive packaging... it's interesting to note they were purchased by french cosmetics company l'oreal in 2008...

put any soap - shower gel - candle - in pretty paper... and i'll be drawn to it - if it has a pleasing scent - all the more so... it is a selling point that will never grow old for me - and always makes for...
