Albert monument
This magnificent Victorian monument (erected in 1865) stands in Albert Park in the centre of Abingdon - where people were strolling around enjoying the late afternoon sunshine.
I almost gave up with this. Not the clearest blip I know but the best I could do after craning my neck for 10 minutes or so. The sun kept coming in and out, and it was either all in shadow or all in sun... then some young children came and played on the plinth for a while... I must have walked round it about a dozen times.
I always think he is looking out across town for his other half. We do have a monument for Queen Vic, but she's way over the other side of town in the Abbey Gardens near the Thames.
