The Eildons

With the roadworks on the Forth Road Bridge hindering travel north, the wind and low cloud to the west, we decided to head south. Above Melrose are the Trimontium triptych hills otherwise known as The Eildons. Iron Age settlements and Roman beacons abound and his imagination went doolally. He expected to find skeletons of Roman warriors on the summit still clinging to sword and shields. Fortunately he wasn't disappointed with what he found.
