Across the Sands
Finally made it across the sands of St Ninian's tombolo this afternoon for the first time this year. I kept getting the timing wrong when I was here in January.
Even today we needed to give the tide a bit longer to drop away and spent some time watching the oystercatchers at the 'mainland' end of the beach before going across to the island.
A few rogue waves as we were watching the birds, did ensure that we didn't manage to leave the beach without getting boots and socks thoroughly soaked. At least the water wasn't too cold. Others and others have found the waves here to be a bit troublesome today too.
