Day 11 Moonlit view from the tent
It was a lovely walk today. We were up early because we had to ford a big river and we wanted to get there before there was too much glacial melt in it. It wasn't that easy but in the end we all got across safely. At this stage we left the river that we'd been following since the pass and started to go up another. If we'd carried on along the river we would have been in Tibet (China) within a day's walk - or more likely arrested by the Indian border police.
Almost immediately our change of direction took us out of the arid environment and into the first green surrounding that we'd seen for a while.
The photo was taken in the middle of the night, lit by a glorious moon.
