The West End

Popped into town to spend my birthday vouchers at Valvona and Crolla, and Waterstones-I enjoyed my shopping very much. Took this shot of St Cuthbert's Church from the bus stop. For anyone who doesn't know Edinburgh, the castle rises off to the right and Princess Street is to the left.
I like the fragile wintery beauty of the trees in the graveyard-still waiting for some Spring weather to wake them up.
This graveyard is famous amongst other things for its watchtower at the gate which was built to stop grave robbers- after all this is the city with a famous medical school and residents (long ago) Burke and Hare.
