Buchanan Street
When the beautiful boys were still wee, strapped into their car seats on the joyous M8 journey to Glasgow to visit grannies and grandpas, we would invariably get past Harthill when the plaintive cry from the back would be, 'Does it always rain in Glasgow?' To which, of course, as a born and bred Weegie, I would reply, 'Yes!'.
How, then, on an out-of-office meeting in Glasgow did I arrive in Scotland's largest city and realise that I'd omitted to pack an umbrella?
However, this is a view of the Right Honourable Donald Dewar's statue surveying the works and biz in Buchanan Street. It almost makes me feel as if I'm back home in Edinburgh, given the roadworks and machinery blocking the vista..
