ISST's Basketball

The International School Sports Tournament for Basketball is currently being hosted by the school I work in at the moment. It's a massive event on the sporting calendar as teams from around the world travel to compete. In between lessons today I popped down to see our boys play as I wanted to try my hand at a bit of sports photography. They are the team in white playing against a team from Athens.

I set my camera on Shutter Priority mode and cranked up the ISO and took several hundred photos, most of which are rubbish. I eventually switched to my 50mm lens as it has a much wider aperture than the original lens that I was using. I really enjoyed the challenge of taking these photos but would be so grateful for any advice on how to take good action shots as I don't know how to eradicate the noise in my photos due to the high ISO.
