Odd way to sit?

Got on the bus, and I was quite glad to hear voices speaking mandarin coming up the stairs. So I spent a short time trying to work out what they were saying. I know I shouldn't eaves drop, but I couldn't resist. It was only when Rae pointed out that how they were sitting was odd that I began to realise it.
