Wat have I been up to?
Well here i am in Cambodia, covered in dust, battered and bruised and thoroughly worn out. But it was worth it!! Finally visited the marvelous Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom today.
This shot is from the Bayon temple within the Angkor Thom complex, it is of one of the towers which are all dominated by the head of Buddha facing in four directions. Although the image depicts Buddha it resembles the Khmer king overseeing the construction Jayavarman VII. I also learned that the images all have a diamond on their foreheads which is a result from the temple becoming Hindu and the image being converted to Shiva with the diamond being his third eye.
I could bore you all with the details but it would be easier to post a link for good old Wikipedia! Bayon Temple
