The China Painters

Slightly less than a year ago, a 'time out' occurred, providing time to ponder. While considering our destiny and expounding on thoughts as they came, it never occurred to me that this year we would embark on such a great adventure as bringing the China Painter herself to our home to live. Oddly, we have two fabulous china painters in our lives, and Mother Comfort will bring with her, her kiln and everything needed to train young painters to paint...if only she will be strong enough to do it. She certainly has wanted to for as long as I've known her. She has told me in no uncertain terms that I was going to have to take the time out to learn to china paint, yet it has never even begun to work out that way.

So, here I am, wondering if it is, indeed, in our destiny to become china painters. Maybe we all will! Maybe we'll be a whole family of china painters and master the art of water color too! Perhaps we will open a little shop on the Bay someday called "Comfort's China Corner" and you can say, "I knew them when..." and even those of us whose last name is not Comfort can be honorary 'Comforts' and place their work in the China Corner. Maybe we should also have a little China Corner Cafe just so we can use the huge volume of plates we'll make! Ha ha, it's fun to dream, isn't it~

Just a couple of her many plates, delicate and beautiful.
