Birthday Party

Today I drove with two friends to Burns, a town in the middle of the High Desert of Oregon. We visited the church congregation there and celebrated the 170th birthday of the Relief Society, the women's organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The decorations of aprons on the walls was so homey and comforting! We had an excellent dinner of homemade Chinese food, watched a short video, then learned to make no-sew aprons out of t-shirts, and put together 25 hygiene kits for the shelter in Burns. It was a lovely evening.
