The Sea At Last....
I have been working down in Christchurch pretty much solidly since Nov last year and whilst I knew I was only about a mile from the sea, I had not actually made it down to the sea front.
So today, my last day for a while, and given that I had finished what I needed to do, I headed off down to the Cliffhanger Cafe to see what it was all about.
Not the greatest blip, but it was as good as my phone would manage (plus some PS magic!) ........What a view...... The Needles on the IoW on the far right hand side in the distance, some beach surveyors (in yellow) carrying all their GPS survey clobber back up the cliff path, and a caravan park on the left hand cliff top..
It reminded me of the last time I saw the entrance to the Solent from the west - almost a year ago when I sailed St Barbara V back from Madeira to Gosport, though that time we passed the Needles at 2am so the view wasn't quite so good!
The next time I see it will be over the Easter bank holiday when I board St B again for the weekend and introduce an unknown factor to sailing - a 4.5 year old!!! I am busy lifejacket shopping at the mo!!
