The UN theme of international Women`s Day 2012 is Empower Women-End Hunger and Poverty!
International Women`s Day, originally International Working Women`s Day, is marked on March 8 every year. The first national Women`s Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United Sates following a declaration by the socialist party of America.
