Tegenaria Gigantea

Otherwise known as the giant house spider - although in this case thankfully living in the garage and not the house!

I found it surprisingly difficult to hold the camera steady since I was expecting it to leap onto my face at any moment so this is the best I was able to capture - next time I might use a tripod and retire to a safer distance ;)
