Angel with violin
Quick return visit to St Mary's Church, Newick to photograph the window in the choir aisle that I missed earlier in the week. Its another James Powell and Sons window and dates from 1906. The design is quite unusual, with six angels in two lights, each playing a different instrument. I really like the detail on the angels' robes in these windows. Unfortunately the position of the organ and a large stone pillar means that it is almost impossible to get a clear view of the window without being almost directly beneath it so most of the images suffer from converging verticals.
