A hard slog.
Walked the South West Coast Path from Porthleven to Rinsey.
It was only 3 1/2 miles there but no one warned us quite how difficult it was!
Up and down all the time and quite steep! I have walked the coast path in other places and none have been as difficult as this! It was worse than the Yorkshire Dales!
Anyhow when we got there we felt we had achieved something, and the views were spectacular. Had a picnic pasty lunch, and then the only trouble was we had to walk back. Decided to go back on the cliff road which was much easier and only 3 miles.
This photo is of Wheal Prosper which has been partly restored by the National Trust. I love these old tin mines. I call them Cornish castles.
We passed a field where they were cutting cauliflowers, so went to see if we could buy one. What a nice young man. He cut us two and wouldn't take any money! What lovely friendly people there are in Cornwall!
Had it for tea with cheese sauce...Yummy!
We have some friends coming to stay tomorrow until Sunday. K and T are great friends who live in Somerset, and so we don't see them very often. It is K's birthday tomorrow so have been busy preparing a special meal. As we are in Cornwall with such wonderful fish we are having a whole turbot for the main course, (need a bank loan!!)Smoked salmon and crab timbales with cucumber pappardelle to start,
and rhubard and orange pie for dessert. We've got some nice wines too. Champagne from Bouzy in France ( brought back from holls last year. Saving it for a special occasion) and a Sancerre to go with the fish.
(making me hungry writing this!)
Will try and keep up with my blips, but might not have time to comment for the next few days, but will catch up with you all on Sunday.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and have a good weekend.
