High Point Pigeons

Widely acknowledged as Bradford's worst building, High Point unfortunately occupies a position appropriate to it's name, the high point of the City Centre. Its one redeeming feature is that in the late afternoon the thin window strips develop a copper glow. It was designed by the John Brunton Partnership, who have been responsible for many Brutalist buildings in the region. It's been vacant since the Yorkshire Building Society left it.

The pigeons seem to like it though.

I'd actually gone down to take pictures of the further demolition of the Thompson's Mill site, after the fire in October. It seems the fire has served to provide impetus for the demolition of surrounding buildings, even though they weren't damaged, including the distinctive truncated chimney that's been such a feature of the Goitside millscape. The "Thunderbird Nine" door that I blipped a few months ago has also been lost today.
