The shower

In January we started working on a partial remodel of our bathroom - really needed a new shower and new sinks. There is no way I'm going to bore anyone with all the steps we've gone through to get to this point, or all the changes in our thinking and all we have learned about bathroom fixtures, but I thought a wee photo documentation was in order. Last monday a guy came and took out the old tile shower and measured for the pan and put in the new valve (which we had to hurry and go pick up). Friday they brought the new pan and installed it. Today they brought the 2 side walls and installed them. 30 minutes before this photo was taken, it was pouring down rain -this might have been a more interesting picture. Marble??? well, fake. "cultured marble" colored and cut to order. We got to this by process of elimination. (too long to relate. thanks goodness I like it!) The one guy was very surly, but knows how to make "marble", the other big guy using the saw told me he charged for photos. (I caught them carrying the pieces to the 3rd floor too, but decided on the "marble dust" photo in our front lawn taken from our 2nd floor window -also liked that sign of spring, the verbena, in bloom)) Later this afternoon (monday) someone else came to measure for the glass doors, which will be ready next monday afternoon.
