Cafe or pub

Back in the fifties and sixties I'm told this was one of the top restaurants in Edinburgh, I don't know about today, maybe you can tell me?
It has been 16 years since I have been in for a drink and I have never eaten here at all,
(1) it was too expensive for me even if I was trying to impress (as one would back in the day)
(2) I installed new flooring to the kitchen in the late sixties and after having to crawl around kitchen floors on a night shift always put a restaurant on my list of places not to eat in.

It is a super looking building, the date above the door is 1862 so it is wearing quite well.
