Electric Blue
Bellevalia dubia. A very striking blue when in bud but the flowers age to a dull brownish purple colour. Closely related to Muscari, the grape Hyacinths, it has long leaves produced early in winter which tend to look untidy by the time the flowers arrive. A curiosity rather than a great beauty, at least it is easy to grow.
The rain continues to torrent, delivered by a strong northerly wind. Great weather for biking to work - NOT! So it's another rainsoaked blip.
