Ammonites
While there is no doubt that I find igneous rocks more interesting, in general, fossils are a lot more photogenic. This is a piece of Jurassic rock from the Isle of Skye that is absolutely stuffed with ammonites of about 3-5cm in diameter. An ammonites graveyard, probably at the bottom of a cold, dark, silty loch - give me the present-day sunshine any time!
