Under the sea

Did you know a jelly fish has no heart, brain or bones? We spent the afternoon at Vancouver Aquarium where it seemed everywhere we went we were just in time for a show/demo/public talk/film.

One of the highlights was seeing three beluga whales, they are completely white as they usually live in the arctic. We also were just in time to catch an episode of BBC Planet Earth in 4D. It was my first 4D experience and I hadn't foreseen water jets, a shaky seat and wind blowing through my hair. I couldn't help but think that perhaps the wind was a little cooler for the penguins huddled on the screen. The water jets were timed just right for a killer whale breaching and at the point when a shark caught its prey, we were prodded in the back which made the woman behind us scream!
