One of those days
Have you ever had one of those days?
Having torn our arms and legs to shreds yesterday trying to reclaim our garden from the brambles (nice jelly, shame about the thorns), we felt sufficiently virtuous enough to take the day off today and go chasing The Picture at the beach whilst tiring out Alfie and Ollie the mad lab and mad sprog respectively.
Clearly Mother Nature (for it is she) felt otherwise and conspired to make our day just a bit "meh" (check your urban dictionary, we have a teenager and some of his language was bound to rub off eventually).
First of all, the tide was in mid-afternoon and, trying out a new beach, we ended up on something the size of a postage stamp. Along with every other dog owner and dog in the vicinity. Alfie thought he had died and gone to heaven. We ended up repeating over and over "it's alright, he's had the snip". Perhaps we should just carry a sign.
Next on to Rame Head for a photo opportunity par excellence; the 13th century Mariner's Chapel on the promontory. Except the sun was completely in the wrong place (at least for this novice) and I was unable to come up with anything other than a silhouette. Round the back of the chapel, where the lighting would have been spot on, was a WW2 mass concrete gun emplacement (or something). Either way, not the look I was going for.
At least the sun shone, although the wind could have cut you in half.
Oh, and on the way home I got a flat . In the middle of nowhere. On a hill.
Actually, we all saw the funny side. Didn't really find The Picture. This came out OK. A couple of also-rans in the Folio.
