Run for your lives.....

.....Owen just about to receive some much needed retribution for his cheek. The snowball fights atop Turnhouse and again on Carnethy were vicious; no quarter asked and none given.

Started the day with the hungry cat kicking me in the moosh, as usual. Bacon roll and strong coffee (the breakfast of champions) next, followed by running a rather dandy looking Mrs Scobes up to the Balmoral in the car for her ladies spa day.

Stig and I met with Pete and Charlie at The Flot, thence to our task; a 9 mile, two top route in the Pentlands (see below). The weather in the far distance seemed to be bombarding the good shiremen of Fife and Peebles with rain and hail, but the blessed burghers of Midlothian enjoyed beautiful blue skies and it was a great walk for it. Two weary 10 year olds joined Pete and I at The Flot after for well kept Stewart Brewing Holyrood (IPA) and lashings of ginger beer.

Route: The Flot car park to Turnhouse Hill and Carnethy Hill, down the bealach and Old Kirk Road to Loganlea reservoir (lots of grisly chat about the killings), and finally round Glencorse before arriving back The Flot.
