Curle's Passage
After the rain and snow this morning I went into Winchester with the intention of going into Queen Eleanor's Garden. Unfortunately health and safety has closed this gem because there is a danger of falling masonry.
So I walked round through Peninsular Barracks and down to the Cathedral. To the right of the front of the building this passage connects to Cathedral Close. It was built in 1632 by Bishop Curle and meant people did not have to walk through the Cathedral.
I have taken this shot before but previous efforts have been discarded either because there was Harris Fencing in the way or there were people in the shot. I love the effect of the arches giving a tunnel effect.
The rain and snow have stopped and the sun is trying to come out.
