Golden Eagle

On the drive back home to Bend from Boise today, there were blue skies, white clouds, and birds. This golden eagle was feasting on a deer carcass off the shoulder of the road. My husband spotted it, so we turned around and drove slowly by so I could shoot pictures out the window. The bird kept eating, then fluffed himself up as if to intimidate us, then finally flew a few yards away until we left. It was so exciting!

A bald eagle presented himself to us, but in our haste the camera got put on timer, so by the time the timer was done, the eagle had flown.

How exciting to see these magnificent birds!!
