Get stuck in!
Another great day at the studio, had the place to myself as owner was in Southampton teaching a class there. Was a bit strange opening up the studio, finding the lights, heating, milk etc (!) but was good fun.
The students on todays course were lovely. Two fellow Scots where we talked about back up home and all had a lovely time together.
I took plenty of shots on the walk of flowers, landscapes etc, but I really like this image. This student was so in her element that she didn't notice me taking this image. It just goes to show that even with candid portraits, they can look really effective.
Top tip - try to capture your portraits unaware, you really capture their personality then, rather than the posed portraits!
Top top tip - Get stuck in! It is great if you can get close to your subject - it changes your perspective of your shots and makes for a more pleasing composition.
Tonights class at college was also great. It felt as if everyone had worked well together and had a good understanding, despite it only being week 2.
Deja vu tomorrow - back in the studio and then college at night again!
