We went looking for Picea engelmannii in a different location today. We found the trees (tall, too) and noticed our friendly squirrel has been busy caching spruce cones! We raided his little holes and came out with about 300 cones from 3 different squirrel caches. They'll cache more and will be fine for the winter.

Solves the problem of getting cones down from the top of the spruce.
