Blossoming Oxford City
Had a lovely lazy day in Oxford looking for something for my mum (Mother's Day and her birthday are both fast approaching). The weather forecast was wrong, wrong, wrong. After some early morning rain it's been a glorious day.
I'd like to take you on a little circular tour: I jumped off the bus at St Aldgates and walked through Christ Church College War Memorial Gardens / Meadows.
Cut back into the city centre via Oxford Cathedral and then on to the High Street where I did a little shopping and blipped this: the beautiful baroque porch of the University Church of St Mary the Virgin. The blossom on the old gnarled tree, held up by props on the High Street, looked absolutely gorgeous.
Wandered through the covered market and then spent some time watching various street entertainers - including these two rather handsome Busketeers! Whilst I was photographing the buskers I suddenly realised that the chap standing next to me was doing the same but with what looked like a modern day Box Brownie!
