Horsepower Saturday
Today started dank & drizzly but ended sunny and bright.
My friend Em came over and we got Sausage & Bob out. It was the first time Bob's been ridden since having his teeth out and his shoes back on so Em rode him. He was a different pony on the road. Last week he would have crumpled to his knees if I took him on Tarmac. He just hasn't been right since his shoes came off in October. But today he was really happy to be out. Emma worked him well and had him walking properly and was delighted with him. His buddies (Harvey, Tommy & Holly) tried to race him across the hedge but he was a good boy. He didn't like the wind too much but wasn't naughty.
Sausage as always was a superstar. Such a little treasure.
Beth got on Bob after Emma and had a little ride. She was nervous but she did it. So I'm proud. After her nasty fall a while back, it has scared her.
The Farmer decided that it would be a good time to get the new quad and The Little Farmer's motorbike out. So they had an hour whizzing around the fen. The ponies didn't flinch at them at all. Bless 'em. As much as my menfolk like the horses, it's a different kind of horsepower that does it for them.
