Open Day

Today was Tom's second University Open Day, having visited Hull last week, today was Wolverhampton's turn.

We were impressed by the ease of travelling there by train, one and a half hours with a change at Smethwick Galton Bridge from Stratford. Not that commuting would be an option; university is the opportunity for free time for parents, as well as teaching life skills to students!

The university has obviously been improved over the last seventeen years or so since I took my number two son there on an Open Day (he ended up going to Preston).

The photo is actually inside the Chubb Building which also houses the Lighthouse Cinema. This is the cinema where the Film Studies students watch their films and have their discussions. It took me a while to twig that the sculpture is representative of the locking mechanism Chubb is famous for (I'm a bit slow I guess, I thought it was something to do with a watch mechanism!)
