A good day for kite surfing

A good day for me too as I found out that last weekend's photo of the dhow racing was a staff pick of the week. This was a complete shock but, along with the marvellous crown icon, gave me an inordinate amount of pleasure. Also a good day for Ben who passed his Advanced Sailing course in pretty difficult conditions with high winds.

Not such a good day on the beach though for the rest of us thanks to yet another bad shamal this weekend. These were the only other people on our beach but they didn't last long and this is them leaving. We followed shortly afterwards as the wind increased, even though the kids were still happy building sandcastles.
