Reykjavik City
This is the City of Reykjavik or "Kvosin" as it was called in the beginning of last century.
From the left: This house was newly rebuilt as it is "a landmark" in the City, it burned down some years ago and now they put an extra floor under it. Then The County Court of Reykjavik; a kiosk that has been moved a lot around the City. Behind it an ugly brown house that hopefully will be broken down and another big ugly house of glass, Harpa, the new music hall.
The white house to the right was built as a prison 1770-71. Later it became the offices of the President and the Prime Minister or until the two were of such opposite arms of politic - the President moved to Staðarstaður.
The two statues in front are The King of Denmark Christian X bringing the Icelanders their first constitution in 1874, he was our king then, and Hannes Hafstein our first (Prime) Minister 1904.
Photoshop put this together mostly of its own, I only took a bunch of pictures.
