I went skating on the ice of Kallavesi also today. Today I had my hockey skates instead of the rental tour skates I had yesterday. Today I went skating before noon and the ice was in much better conditon. Yesterday I was about to lose my balance many times when hitting a softer spot on the ice surface. The ice is till strong enough to be maintained by a tractor but in afternoon sunshine the surface of the ice gets soft and it's really bad to skate. Next week is supposed to be sunny, yet a few grades below zero. That's gonna be a great weather for skating (and skiing).
