After the rain ...

What a marvellous downpour we had today!

It was so very very welcome! Last night we heard thunder, which is unusual to this part of the country, but what an exquisite sound!

Especially if you have grown up with thunder and lightning! Beauty and music to the ears!
And when the dogs came to seek comfort, we knew that there was something coming our way ....

This morning, Johann and two friends left on their off-road bikes for the West Coast where it is now coming in to the flowering season - those who know, know, and those who do not know - pity on you! Do yourself a favour and read up on this occurence - it is no where else in the world to be seen.

And then the rain started.
I thought how they were struggling on their bikes, getting cold, getting wet, but then: it was their decision to go on this trip .... they planned to see the flowers, then travel some more upward with the West Coast, enter Namibia and travel up to Swakopmund ....

Part of this route I have seen, it is wonderful and marvelous.. words can do no justice..

This trip will take about 10 days...

But in the meantime, I am still waiting for my Sony Cybershot who had had a white-out and after more than a month, is still at the agents' for repairs ....

After which I blipped with Johanns P&S Sony, for which I developed a new admiration, but this P&S is now somewhere at the West Coast.

Now I am blipping with a totally new 'friend' - obtained this morning from Cecile, daughter, it is a very small Canon Power Shot, SD750, 7.1MP ... and it has really impressed me ...

Though it is small to hold and to behold ... it delivers much more than expected!
